Chena Rasa is one of the chappan bhog receipe of Lord Jagannath.
Ingredients:
Cottage cheese/ Chena
Salt
Whole wheat 1 tsp
Jaggery
Hing/ asafoetida
For grinding paste:
Shredded coconut
Cloves
Cinnamon
Black cardamom
Black pepper corns
Turmeric
Ginger
Chena RasaGrind all ingredients with shredded coconut with little water.Grinded paste.Mix together Chena, whole wheat, salt.Knead for a minute, then make round balls like this.Fry Chena balls in hot ghee till golden brown on a low heat.Fried balls is ready.Add water to grinded paste and bring it to boil.Add jaggery to it and let it boil for 7-8 min.Now add fried Chena balls and add asafoetida. Let it cook for 5 more min. Chena Rasa is ready for bhog.
Notes:
Cook Chena balls on a low heat. Adjust the spices as per your preference.
