Kadamb is one of the Sankhudi bhog receipe of Lord Jagannath. As it is prepared from Urad dal it is a Sankhudi Mahaprasad.
Ingredients:
Urad dal paste
A pinch of salt
Jaggery
Coarsely powdered black pepper and black cardamom
Kadamb.Soak urad dal and make a paste without adding water or with very little water. The batter should be thick.Add little salt and beat well for 5 min till it turns fluffy.Fry them in hot ghee till it turns golden brown on both sides.Fried dumplings are ready.Prepare jaggery syrup by adding little water.Coarsely powder black pepper and black cardamom.Once it turns two string consistency switch off the flame. To this add fried dumplings.Keep stirring on stove, till syrup well coats with the dumplings and dries up completely.Jaggery syrup has completely dried and coated well with urad dal dumplings. Sprinkle powdered spices. Kadamba is ready for bhog.
Notes:
Do not get confused by Kadamba receipe which is rice-jaggery pudding. Both are different.
