Kadamba is one of the Sankhudi bhog receipe of Lord Jagannth. It is specially offered during Karthika masa.

Ingredients:

Rice (1 cup)

Jaggery 1/2 cup

Water 2 1/2 cup

Powdered spices: Badi elachi/ black cardamom, lavang/ cloves, peppercorns

Kaddamb khiri/ Kaddamb
Soak rice for 1/2 an hour.
Bring 2 1/2 cup of water to boil. Then add soaked rice.
Once rice is 3/4 done add jaggery and powdered spices.
Mix well. Leave it to boil for 10 more min. Let jaggery melt and mix well with rice. Kaddamb is ready for bhog.

Notes:

Kaddamb has to be little watery in consistency. Add more water and make rice little mushy and soft.
