Muga dalma is one of the chappan bhog receipe of Lord Jagannth.

Ingredients:

Moong dal 1 cup

Chopped vegetables ( yam, Taro or arbi, sweet potato, pumpkin)

Turmeric 1 tsp

Salt as per taste

Shredded ginger

Jaggery 1 tsp

Shredded coconut 1/4 cup

Hing/ asafoetida

Pepper powder 1 tsp

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Ghee 1 tbsp

Bay leaves

Ingredients.
Fry moong dal till light brown.
Bring water to boil and add moong dal in it.
To this add salt, turmeric and chopped vegetables and leave it to cook.
Once the veggies and moong dal is almost cooked add pepper powder, shredded ginger and jaggery.
Then add shredded coconut and hing water.
Mix everything well.
Finally add seasoning of ghee, jeera and bayleaves. Muga Dalma is ready for bhog.

Notes:

You can also add elephant apple and radish, I haven’t added here.

You can substitute pepper powder with green chillies

You can sprinkle some cumin- pepper powder or cumin-redchilli powder on top.

You can also add whole red chillies to the seasoning.
