Muga Puli is one of the chappan bhog receipes of Lord Jagannth.
Ingredients :
Moong dal 1 cup
Rice 1/2 cup
Jaggery 1/3 cup
Coconut 1/2 cup
For spice masala : grind coarsely
Cardamom pods 2-3
Cloves 2 -3
Whole pepper 5-6
Grated ginger
Muga puliIngredients. prepare the batter by grinding the soaked moongdal and rice, then ferment it for 5-6 hours.Prepare the stuffing by frying jaggery coconut and spice mix till it becomes sticky.Spread the batter on a heated tawa like this.Keep the stuffing over it.Cover the stuffing with the batter on the top.Roast till golden brown on both sides.Flip on other side, roast on both sides.Another process is directly add all the ingredients into the batter, mix well.Spread the batter like dosa on a heated tawa.Muga puli is ready for bhog.
Notes:
To prepare the batter: Soak moong dal and rice for 2-3 hours then grind to a smooth paste and ferment it for 4-5 hours.
