Kshirisa is one of the Bhoga receipe of godesses Laxmi on Manabasa Gurubar. It is the worship of Goddess Lakshmi in the month of Margasira of November and December as per traditional Oriya calendar.

Ingredients:

Shredded coconut 1 cup

Soaked raw rice or any flavorful rice 1/4 cup

Powdered khand / sugar 1/4 cup

Bay leaves

A pinch of salt

Cardamom whole or powder

Kshirisa
In a pan boil 1/2 cup of water. To this add bay leaves and whole cards on or pods.
In a blender, add 1 cup of shredded coconut and soaked rice.

Grind it to a smooth paste by adding little water.

Rice coconut paste is ready.
Now add the ground paste to the boiling water.
Mix well.

Add sugar candy/ khand. Also add a pinch of salt.

Bring it to boil for 3-4 min. Kshirisa is ready for bhog.

Notes:

While boiling you can also add coconut pieces. I haven’t added here.

You can use sugar instead of sugar candy.
